Product Description

DILUNETT® is a powerful, water washable solvent free paint stripper that will remove any oil and alkyd based paint, varnish or wood stain. Requiring no supervision or immediate removal of the softened coating, DILUNETT® strips up to 8 coats of finish in one application. Suitable for virtually any surface including wood, metal, plastic and GRP, DILUNETT®’s gel consistency means it will not run, making it ideal for vertical surfaces and elaborate plaster or wood designs needing to be stripped. Easy to apply, DILUNETT® dissolves paint in the smallest recess and on the finest detail, softening all accumulated layers for simple, clean removal. VOC free and non flammable, DILUNETT® is safe to use in poorly ventilated or confined areas.

Surface Preparation

• Remove any loose and flaking paint.
• Brush off any physical surface contamination e.g. moss, general dirt etc.

Application

• Apply a thick coat of DILUNETT® over the whole surface to be stripped. For woods rich in tannins, work large areas in zones to avoid excessive darkening of the wood.
• Allow product to work.
• Remove DILUNETT® and dissolved paint with a stiff scrubbing brush or paint scraper while flushing with water, alternatively use a pressure washer (max 60bars / 870psi).

Note: The use of hot water makes the job easier.

• Thoroughly rinse surface with fresh clean water.
• After stripping and rinsing. All porous (Wood, Stone, Brick….) surfaces must immediately be treated with NET-TROL®* while still wet to neutralise the surface and restore the woods colour.

• Average working times:- Alkyd/Oil paint, stains and varnishes: 1 coat = 5-15 mins, 2 coats = 10-30 mins, 3 coats = 15-45 mins- Acrylic paint, stains and varnishes: Test on a small area to determine working time.
• Note: The above are average working times only. A test should be carried out to determine the actual contact time required to remove the requisite number of coats.

Restrictions

• DILUNETT® will not remove the following types of coatings 2 pack or baked on paints. Polyurethane paint and varnish.
• Do not use on “weak” woods such as veneers.
• Do not use on aluminium.
