Product Description

DEKS OLJE® D.2 is a varnish like, tough, flexible and durable finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood. Easy to maintain and apply the more coats of DEKS OLJE® D.2 applied the higher the gloss finish. Unlike traditional varnishes DEKS OLJE® D.2 will not craze or blister and because of DEKS OLJE® D.1*’s penetrating qualities will not peel or flake as water is unable to get in to the wood.

Surface Preparation

General Directions

• Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dirt, grease, grime and mildew.
• Treat mildew with a 50/50 bleach/water solution. Scrub solution on to the surface and allow to stand for 10-15 minutes; rinse thoroughly.
• DEKS OLJE® D.2 may only be applied to surfaces previously finished with DEKS OLJE® D.2 or DEKS OLJE® D.1*.
• All other finishes must be completely and thoroughly removed.

New wood

• All new wood must be treated with DEKS OLJE® D.1*.

Weathered wood surfaces (untreated)

• Refer to the Technical Data Sheet for DEKS OLJE® D.1*

Previously oiled and coated surfaces (Paint, Stain, Varnish….)

• Refer to the Technical Data Sheet for DEKS OLJE® D.1*
• Weathered wood previously treated with DEKS OLJE® D.1*:
• Clean with NET-TROL®* and restore DEKS OLJE® D.1* before applying DEKS OLJE® D.2.
• Wood already treated with DEKS OLJE® D.2

Application

• DO NOT THIN. USE AS IS.
• Apply 6 coats of DEKS OLJE® D.2 allowing a minimum of 12 hours between coats.
• All coats should be applied within 1 month.
• Sanding between coats is not required.
• For an extra high gloss finish, sand between the last 2 coats with 600 grit paper.
• Allow 3 days for DEKS OLJE® D.2 to set-up and dry, before putting the boat in service.

Restrictions

• DEKS OLJE® D.2 should only be applied to surfaces treated with DEKS OLJE® D.1* or previously finished with DEKS OLJE® D.2.
• Do not apply DEKS OLJE® D.2 in wet weather or late in the day when dew or fog may be expected.
• This may dull a newly set film causing it to blush – exposure to sunlight usually removes the discoloration.
• DEKS OLJE® D.2 is very slippery, especially when wet and we therefore do not recommend the use of it on decks and other areas where it will be walked on.
