Owatrol Deck Cleaner

Product Description

DECK CLEANER is a powerful cleaner and brightener that removes, ground in and surface dirt while restoring a bright, vibrant look to fibreglass and grey, weather-beaten marine wood such as Teak and Mahogany that is unfinished, to its natural colour. Unlike bleach or chlorine based cleaners, DECK CLEANER will not damage the wood fibres.

Properties

• Lightens and restores colour to all greyed weathered marine wood without bleaching.
• Fast acting, restores greyed weathered marine wood to its natural colour within 20 minutes.
• Use on all wood species: Teak, Mahogany, Iroko, Oak, Larch, Pine…
• Excellent degreaser for tropical hardwoods prior to applying the chosen finish.
• Removes all traces of weathering attributed to mould, mildew, pollution…
• Restores lustre to plastic and GRP dulled by weathering and UV rays.
• Removes rust stains.
• Neutralises surfaces stripped or cleaned with MARINE STRIP* or DEEP CLEANER*.
• Safe to use – harmless to plants and shrubs.
• Biodegradable – Does not contain solvents or bleach.

Application

• Shake or stir container well before use.
• Use neat or diluted. See “Dilutions” below.
• Work large areas in zones.
• Always work in the direction of the grain. Do Not use a wire brush.

Wood

• Wet surface with fresh, clean water.
• Apply DECK CLEANER.
• Scrub surface to agitate the DECK CLEANER.
• Leave to stand for approx. 10-20 minutes. If surface starts to dry, dampen with a mist application of water.
• Scrub surface while flushing with water or use a pressure washer (max. 60 bar/870 psi).
• Rinse thoroughly with fresh clean water.
• If required repeat procedure.
• Allow to dry 2-3 days or until it meets the moisture content required by the chosen finish.

Plastic or GRP

• Wet surface with fresh clean water.
• Apply DECK CLEANER.
• Leave to work for 10 minutes.
• Scrub surface with a soft or medium scrubbing brush.
• Rinse with large amounts of fresh clean water.

Rust Stains

• Wet surface with fresh clean water.
• Apply DECK CLEANER with a stiff scrubbing brush working in to rust stain.
• Leave to work for 10 minutes.
• Re-scrub surface with a stiff scrubbing brush.
• Rinse with large amounts of fresh clean water.

Neutralising – DEEP CLEANER*, MARINE STRIP*

• Apply DECK CLEANER to the wet surface.
• Allow to work until the wood has brightened but for at least 15 minutes.
• Thoroughly rinse off with fresh clean water.

CAUTION: Surfaces may be slippery when wet. Use caution when walking on wet surfaces during application. DECK CLEANER may dull painted surfaces and some metal fixings if left on too long. Rinse off quickly or wipe with a wet cloth.
